Productive and Sustainable Agrolocombia Initiative launches online platform

News article - 19 May 2021

Since 2011, IDH has consolidated a broad and successful experience as an ally of the World Economic Forum, bringing together different national public and private actors "in multi-stakeholder platforms oriented to collective action" in Vietnam, Indonesia, India and Africa. Due to this action, since 2017 IDH was invited to serve as Executive Secretary of the AgroColombia Productive and Sustainable Initiative, a platform that promotes the development of the agricultural sector in Colombia, whose main function is to facilitate interaction between the different actors of the Initiative to agree on guidelines and joint actions that improve the agricultural sector.

To reflect the importance of the Initiative and give visibility to the activities and strategies that are being implemented to fulfill the mission in Colombia, as well as to be a support to attract new allies interested in collaborating in the construction of this alliance, a website has just been launched:  www.agrocolombia.co

The online platform gathers information on the Initiative, the thematic working groups, and the challenge of building agreements with a territorial approach, through Produce, Protect and Include Pacts in three priority Departments: Cesar, Magdalena and Huila. In addition, it provides visibility and recognition of the work already carried out over the years by the AgroColombia Productive and Sustainable Initiative.

The objective is to connect public, private and civil society actors in the mission of identifying, aligning, promoting and scaling sustainable practices for the development of the agricultural and livestock sector in Colombia that are in line with the requirements of international markets.
