Nurturing entrepreneurs in the Cavally Region
Nestled in the heart of Côte d'Ivoire, Taï National Park is a crucial biodiversity reservoir and the focal point of an initiative led by IDH, the Office Ivoirien des Parcs et Réserves (OIPR), and UNACOOPEC-CI. This joint project aims to preserve the park by empowering and creating job opportunities for young people and women in cocoa-producing communities, thereby supporting the growth of a green economy through sustainable natural resource management.
The initiative has made substantial progress in the Cavally region, where thirty entrepreneurs have received training in business management and agroforestry techniques. With financial support from UNACOOPEC-CI, these entrepreneurs are launching and expanding their businesses, which enhances the local economy and contributes to biodiversity conservation. Among them, Mr. Dekly Dekri Maxime has become a standout participant. In this video, Mr. Maxime discusses the impact of this support on his fish farming enterprise.
