About

Since 2019, IDH Brazil has been developing the Sustainable Calf Production Program in the state of Mato Grosso, in partnership with the private sector.

The program aims to be a catalyst for transformation, not only for livestock in Mato Grosso, but also in other productive regions of Brazil, such as the state of Pará, where it began in June 2024, in the regions of Bragantina, Paragominas and Tucuruí, establishing a framework for sustainable production.

The objectives of the Program are:

a) Provide support to cow-calf farms to become profitable and investable, including:

  • Production intensification and traceability plans;
  • Support for registration in the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR);
  • Increase in average income;

(b) Enable an innovative approach to:

  • Creation of a sustainable production area;
  • Deliver results for the entire chain;
  • Reach national and international markets;

c) Increase the income of small calf producers, through:

  • training;
  • Technical Assistance;
  • Access to credit;
