This project serves as a pilot project contributing to the targets of Aceh Tamiang Compact. Focusing in a sub-district of Semadam, the project will contribute to the reduction of deforestation, improvement of sustainable palm oil production and land legality/conflict resolution in Aceh Tamiang through following interventions:
Protection:
1. Developing forest monitoring and improving traceability in the direct surroundings of PT Semadam, PT BSG and PT Pati Sari concessions, all of which will contribute to monitoring system at Compact level in Aceh Tamiang.
2. Establishing agroforestry-based livelihood models with good supply chain linkage to reduce forest encroachment"

SourceUp Pilot II with PT Semadam

The project aims to develop buffer zone management model of Leuser ecosystem for ensuring forest protection and regeneration in supporting the sustainable sourcing of palm oil within Aceh Timur jurisdiction. The project will also contribute to overall goals of Sustainable palm oil initiatives at the Provincial level Ac including the Unilever smallholder hub program to achieve regenerating nature and improving community living income.&nbsp;

Unilever FC to  Sustainable Landscape Program in Eastern Leuser

The Unilever Smallholders Hub is an initiative to develop and manage the implementation of&nbsp;locally appropriate smallholder program. Unilever seeks to expand the locus and number of&nbsp;
smallholders included in programs and to coordinate across project sites, with an overarching and&nbsp;long-term goal to include up to 80,000 palm smallholders by 2030.

SourceUp Pilot II with PT Socfindo

It is the umbrella partnership between IDH and Unilever for Aceh landscape. The umbrella partnership translated into several agreements between IDH, Mills and implementing organization.&nbsp;
There are set of field projects that consist of smallholder/plantation mapping, HCV/HCS assessment &amp; management, forest restoration, GAP &amp; certification preparedness training for smallholders and land conflict resolution. The FLP serves as the VSA Pilots for palm oil Aceh Tamiang, engaging Unilever, PT Semadam &amp;; PT Socfin (local grower) and Forum Konservasi Leuser (FKL/implementing partner).
